John Van Geel

John Van Geel is currently the head of RBUs at Syntel Inc. John previously served as the SVP global head of RBUs at Atos IT Solutions and Services A/S from July 2010 to March 2022. Prior to that, they were the IT director and CIO at Heijmans from September 1997 to June 2010.

At Heijmans, John was responsible for defining the IT strategy and IT policy, running the IT Organization, enable Business and IT alignment, sourcing and IT security management. John was directly responsible for all major IT changes, including the design, build, and realization of a complete new IT greenfield (Heijmans cloud) together with Centric; the reorganization of the IT department as part of the new Heijmans Strategy; the implementation of an invoice control system; the realization of a new intranet to improve internal communication and collaboration; the realization of sourcing strategy together with Atos Origin; the integration of Heitkamp Rail (Germany); the acquisition and (partly) integration of Burgers Ergon; the development of IT sourcing strategy; the implementation of a new consolidation and reporting system; the implementation of information systems at the building plot (Werap and Baan IV/BPA); the implementation of a corporate-wide new office environment; the integration of Royal IBC; the millenium and Euro conversion; and several mergers, acquisitions, ERP implementations, migrations, and upgrades (SAP R

John Van Geel has a Drs in Bestuurlijke Informatiekunde from Tilburg University, a GMP in General Management Programm from INSEAD, and a RE in EDP Audit / IT Auditing from TIAS School for Business and Society. John also has a VWO in Dutch, English, Mathematics A+B, Economics I, Theirtory, Science from Rythovius College.
