Joshua Meyers

Joshua Meyers works as the Protein Engineering AI Lead at Synteny since May 2023. Previously, Joshua worked at BenevolentAI from November 2017 to March 2022, starting as the Lead AI Scientist and progressing to Senior AI Scientist and Senior Chemoinformatics Data Scientist roles. Before that, Joshua was a Chemoinformatics Data Scientist at AstraZeneca from September 2011 to August 2012. Joshua holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemoinformatics from The Institute of Cancer Research and a MChem (integrated) with year in industry in Chemistry from the University of Leeds. At AstraZeneca, Joshua developed Python web applications for drug discovery, specifically focusing on building web services and supporting matched molecular pair workflows using OpenEye toolkits and Django.
