As Director of Valve Surgery and Vice Chief or Surgery and a practicing cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon at Delray Medical Center, Dr. Richard Catledge brings rare perspective to Syntheon.
After studying mechanical engineering at Lehigh, Richard turned his attention to medicine. He is fellowship trained in cardiovascular surgery at New York Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center and at Memorial Sloan Kettering in thoracic surgical oncology.
15 years of direct business acumen in both established and emerging arenas, complement his medical insight. Richard is a founder of Smisson-Cartledge Biomedical and the inventor of Thermacor 1200, a rapid infusion device approved by the FDA and that was awarded during its development by four Department of Defense appropriations.
The founder and inventor of Mitral Solutions, known for the development of the first adjustable mitral valve annuloplasty ring, Dr. Cartledge also has more than 80 issued and pending patents.
