Bruno Magalhaes

Bruno Magalhaes is a Senior Research Engineer specializing in Large AI Models at Synthesia since November 2023. Previously, Bruno served in various roles at Microsoft Research from September 2019 to October 2023, focusing on machine learning-based error quantification and the development of large computer vision models for 3D imaging. Prior to that, Bruno was affiliated with EPFL, where as a HPC engineer, PhD candidate, and postdoctoral researcher, innovative methods for asynchronous distributed-parallel simulation of neural networks were researched and developed. Bruno's career began at Noble Group as a Jr Architect for IT Infrastructures, where contributions included the design of a contingency data center and other infrastructure projects. Bruno holds a PhD in Computational Neuroscience from EPFL and an MSc in Advanced Computing from Imperial College London.
