Oliver Pickburn

Oliver Pickburn is an experienced professional in the field of chemistry and innovation management, currently serving as the Innovation Excellence Manager at Synthomer since June 2018. In this role, Oliver leads the development and implementation of Synthomer's Functional Excellence program, focusing on Innovation Strategy, Organisational Capability, Project Management, and Knowledge Management. Prior positions at Synthomer include Materials Characterisation Manager for the EMEA region and Global Analytical Manager, where responsibilities involved expanding analytical capabilities and managing analytical support for R&D and technical services. Before joining Synthomer, Oliver held various roles at Akzo Nobel Decorative Coatings Ltd, including Team Leader for Experimental Design and Knowledge Management, where Oliver supported global R&D programs and led capability development projects. Earlier experience includes working as an Analytical Chemist at Envirochem Analytical Laboratory. Oliver holds a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management from the Chartered Management Institute and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Durham University.
