Stephan Ghekiere

Stephan Ghekiere is an experienced environmental professional with a robust background in environmental regulatory compliance and education. Currently serving as the Environmental Regulatory Compliance Lead for Cargill EMEA since September 2020, Ghekiere oversees compliance across sites in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. With a long-standing association with Syntra West since 1994, Ghekiere teaches courses on wastewater treatment technology and emissions monitoring. Previous roles at Cargill from 1991 to 2012 included EHS auditor and advisor, focusing on resource efficiency and environmental compliance projects. Additionally, Ghekiere contributed to environmental compliance as a Group Environmental Coordinator at Vandemoortele from 1991 to 1998. Academic credentials include a PhD in Applied Biological Sciences, an MScEng in Applied Biological Sciences, and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, all from KU Leuven.
