Gabriel Young is a highly experienced professional with a focus on transitional justice, missing persons investigations, and human rights. Currently serving as a Missing Persons Investigator at the Syria Justice and Accountability Centre since September 2020, Gabriel collaborates with analysis teams and directs investigation initiatives. Previous roles include Research Fellow at SJAC, where research on transitional justice topics and documentation efforts were coordinated, and various academic positions at New York University, including Graduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant. Additional experience includes translating and conducting client intake for the International Refugee Assistance Project and teaching history at Saint Anselm's Abbey School. Gabriel holds a PhD in History and Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies from New York University, as well as degrees in Near Eastern Studies and History. Language proficiency is further enhanced through ongoing studies at Jordan Language Academy, Middlebury Arabic School, and the University of Nizwa.
