Alexander Lawrence

Alexander Lawrence has a diverse and extensive work experience. Alexander is currently employed at Sysdig as a Field CISO since October 2023. Before joining Sysdig, they worked as a Principal Security Architect from February 2022 to October 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Principal Solutions Engineer - West from March 2020 to February 2022, and as a Senior Solutions Engineer from September 2018 to March 2020.

Before Sysdig, Alexander worked at Nimble Storage where they held multiple roles. Alexander started as a System Engineer in November 2015 and became a Senior Systems Engineer in February 2017, a position they held until September 2018. In this role, they were responsible for the engineering and technology side of the sales cycle, achieving impressive sales results and being recognized as the top salesperson worldwide.

Prior to Nimble Storage, Alexander worked at Dependable IT Support as a Senior Engineer from August 2013 to November 2015. Alexander also served as the Lead Systems Administrator at Pacific Lutheran University from November 2011 to November 2015.

Furthermore, Alexander gained valuable experience as an Information Technology Specialist at the Washington State Board of Industrial Insurance from July 2008 to November 2011. Alexander also worked as a Network Operations Specialist at the School District of Holmen from March 2007 to June 2008.

In the earlier stages of their career, Alexander had roles as a Faculty and Staff Trainer at the University of Wisconsin from August 2006 to December 2006, and as a Student Network Technician at Pacific Lutheran University from August 2003 to June 2006.

Alexander Lawrence has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Information Technology from Pacific Lutheran University - School of Business, obtained from 2014 to 2016. Alexander also holds a Master's degree in Mycology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, completed in 2006. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Pacific Lutheran University, finishing in 2006 as well. Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in July 2023, and the Kraken Scout certification from Sysdig in September 2022.
