Saranel Benjamin

Saranel Benjamin currently serves as the Executive Director of Systemic Justice and has held the position of Co Executive Director at Mama Cash from January 2023 to September 2025. Previously, Saranel was the Head of Partnerships in the Impact Division at Oxfam, where the focus was on advancing a decolonial, feminist, and partner-led vision. Other notable roles include Co-Founder of Women of Colour Forum and Director of International Programmes at War on Want. Additionally, Saranel held various positions on boards and as a researcher, focusing on social exclusion and the experiences of women workers in the Global South. Academic qualifications include a PhD from UCL in Social Exclusion, Poverty, and Inequality, an honours degree in International Politics from the University of South Africa, and a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Political Science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
