Alicyn Reverdy Pearson

Alicyn Reverdy Pearson has a diverse work experience starting from 2013 to 2022. Alicyn had their first work experience as a Volunteer at CARITAS in 2013. Following that, they worked as an Undergraduate Student at Wake Forest University from 2011 to 2015. During their time at Wake Forest, they also served as an Undergraduate Researcher, investigating the relationship between elevated antibody levels in C4 mice and their bacterial flora.

In 2015, Alicyn joined Northeastern University as a PhD Candidate in Microbiology. Alicyn conducted extensive research on protein lysine acetylation for the regulation of Bacillus subtilis biofilm formation, metabolic heterogeneity, and carbon metabolism. Alicyn also analyzed microbial diversity and survival strategies of extremophiles in the Atacama Desert and Chilean Patagonia. Additionally, they trained and mentored undergraduate students, managed lab operations, and assisted in class lectures.

During their time at Northeastern University, Alicyn also held various roles such as Graduate Teaching Assistant, President of Biology Graduate Student Association, and Program Assistant. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, they provided assistance in teaching and grading. As the President of Biology Graduate Student Association, they led the organization and oversaw its activities. As a Program Assistant, they managed a study-abroad program in Chile and supervised undergraduate students in research.
