Niko Savola

Niko Savola currently serves as a Photonics Engineer at Project Taara since September 2025, following a role in the same capacity at X, the moonshot factory from October 2023 to September 2025. Prior experience includes a position as a Student Researcher at Google Quantum AI in mid-2023 and a sustained role as a Quantum Engineer (March 2021 - June 2023) at IQM Quantum Computers, where previous experience included an internship. Additional roles include Research Assistant at HUS Helsingin yliopistollinen sairaala, a Teaching Assistant at Aalto University, and a summer Research Assistant at Aalto University's Quantum Computing and Devices group. Niko holds a Doctor of Science in Quantum Technology from Aalto University, expected in 2030, along with a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics from the same institution. Early educational achievements include a Matriculation examination from Oulun Lyseo Upper Secondary School.
