Jim "Guido" DiMatteo has a diverse and extensive work experience. Jim "Guido" started their career in the US Navy as a Captain (Retired) and Naval Aviator, serving for almost three decades. Following this, they owned and operated Jimmy Love's Restaurant and Bar for twenty years. In 2011, they joined Oshkosh Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) as the Vice President, responsible for Features & Attractions at AirVenture Oshkosh, until 2014. Later, they became the Director of the Breitling Jet Team from 2014 to 2017. Jim "Guido" then worked as the Race Director for Red Bull Air Race from 2006 to 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Communications and F-5 Adversary Pilot in the Strategy Department at Tactical Air Support, Inc.

Jim "Guido" DiMatteo attended the University of California, Berkeley where they studied Civil Engineering. The start and end years of their education are not specified.
