Senior Product Designer at tado˚

Chris Baumann began their work experience as an Intern in Exterior Design for BMW Group in 2011, where they worked on projects such as the development of an independent camping vehicle based on the MINI Countryman. Chris also interned in Exterior Design for Qoros Auto Co./Magna Steyr, where they were responsible for detail design, CAD modeling, and clay modeling for various vehicle models. In 2012, they freelanced as a Designer for Semcon, focusing on exterior and product design.

Moving on, Baumann worked at BMW as a Degree Student/UX Designer, where they conducted extensive user research and developed a UX concept for BMW Mobility Services as part of their thesis. Chris also designed a two-seated BMWi concept car and created CAD modeling and a physical 1:8 scale model. Chris then joined SHARE NOW as a User Experience Designer, where they were in charge of the UX concept and design of the 2014 DriveNow App, resulting in an increase in customer base.

Baumann later worked as a Student Consultant for Wärtsilä, developing a 3D printing strategy for the company's spare part business. At futurice, they held various roles, including Product Designer and Senior Product Designer, where they contributed to projects such as the development of integrated parking and charging services for a German car manufacturer and the prototyping of a smart personal assistant.

Most recently, Baumann joined tado GmbH as Head of Product Design, leading the product design team and contributing to the company's UX design. The exact dates of their roles at tado GmbH are not provided.

Chris Baumann's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences. Chris attended this institution from 2009 to 2013. Later, from 2014 to 2016, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in International Design Business Management (Major) at Aalto University. During the same period, they also completed a Master of Arts degree in Collaborative and Industrial Design (Minor) at the same university. In 2017, Chris obtained a certification in Professional Scrum Product Owner from Scrum.org.
