Maciej Piekarski

Maciej Piekarski has a diverse background in software engineering, with experience in multiple industries and roles. Maciej started their career as a Software Engineer Intern at TRIDONIC, where they developed software for a new automatic test stand. Maciej then interned at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, working in a multinational team researching biomedical image processing and analysis techniques.

After their internships, Maciej worked as a Software Engineer at Tegeos, a spinoff from AGH University, where they helped establish device parameters and designed the software architecture for highly accurate measurement devices.

Maciej then joined Ericpol as a Junior Java Developer and Scrum Master, working on an Identity and Access Management solution for an Operations Support System. Maciej also spent time learning from teams in Athlone, Ireland to gain a better understanding of the application.

Maciej continued their career at Luxoft as a Junior Java Developer, developing a complex back-office application for UBS. Maciej focused on clean coding practices, test-driven development, and improving the testing and integration process.

Next, Maciej worked at zooplus AG as a Java Engineer, where they worked in the logistics and finance departments. Maciej collaborated with domain experts to solve various problems and pushed for an iterative approach to creating solutions. Maciej also organized technical discussions through brown bag sessions.

Currently, Maciej works at tado GmbH as a Software Engineer (IoT backend), contributing to the development of IoT backend solutions.

Maciej Piekarski attended AGH University of Krakow from 2008 to 2013 where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Automation and Robotics. Maciej then continued their education at the same university and obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Automation and Robotics from 2012 to 2014. In addition to their formal education, Maciej obtained several certifications including Java SE 8 Programmer I from Oracle in November 2015, Professional Scrum Master I from Scrum.org in January 2015, Certified LabVIEW Developer from National Instruments in August 2014, and IELTS from the British Council in June 2011.
