Matt Wells has extensive experience in the leisure, attractions, engineering, safety and virtual reality industries. Matt began their career in 1989 as an Airborne Engineer (Paratrooper) in the British Army, where they were responsible for the leadership of a small and specialist team of highly motivated and committed soldiers in a variety of hostile situations. In 1997, they transitioned to a freelance role as a Mountain/Expedition Leader & Management Training Facilitator. In 2001, they co-founded Outlook Expeditions, where they led the start-up and growth of the company, firmly establishing it as a leading brand in the youth expedition sector and the largest independent operator in the UK. In 2010, they became the Chairman of the Expedition Providers Association, where they were responsible for negotiation on behalf of members with industry standards, NGOs and the UK Government. In 2014, they became the Co-founder & Chief Executive of Frontgrid, uniting experts in the global leisure, attractions, engineering, safety and virtual reality industries with one aim; to bring ground-breaking adventure experiences to everyday environments worldwide. Matt also became the Co-founder / Chairman of TahDah Verified Ltd, the future of online verified professional qualifications, and the Managing Director of Medru Consulting, providing business consultancy services and Non-Executive Director (NED) support. Additionally, they became the Chairman of Papertrail.io, Safety Compliance & Inspections Simplified. In 2018, Frontgrid launched its world-first VR attraction, ParadropVR\u2122, which is now installed in 8 countries worldwide.

Matt Wells attended Bangor University from 1998 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Leisure & Tourism Resource Management. In 2007-2008, they attended Brathay Hall to study Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Advanced Facilitating Learning Through Experience. Matt also completed a Level 7 Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) Executive Leadership Coaching & Mentoring course at Bangor University in 2008.
