Anna Katharina D. serves as the Houston Policy and Advocacy Manager at Tahirih Justice Center since 2016, leading advocacy campaigns aimed at reforming laws and policies for immigrant survivors of gender-based violence. Previously, Anna worked as a Legal Advocate and DOJ Accredited Representative, providing vital information on crime victims’ rights and representing survivors in immigration relief applications. Earlier experience includes roles at Asylum Access as a Policy Advocacy and Volunteer Leadership Associate, the Rocky Mountain Herbarium as an Herbarium Assistant, and an internship with the International Criminal Court. Anna has also worked as a Human Rights Accompanier with NISGUA in Guatemala and served as an Americorps Vista Summer Associate at Teton Literacy Center. Anna holds a Master of International Studies in Peace and Conflict Resolution from The University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Justice Studies from Wellesley College.
