Ben Towers

Ben Towers has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Ben is currently the CEO and Co-Founder of Happl (YC W22), a role they have held since November 2022. Ben is also a Member of Founders Pledge, a global community of entrepreneurs committed to donating a portion of their personal proceeds to social causes.

Prior to their current roles, Ben served as an Ambassador for various organizations including The Prince's Trust, Dogs Trust, Duke Of York (iDEA), The Diana Award, and The Young Lives Foundation. In this capacity, they championed and supported young people and raised awareness for animal rights.

Ben also worked as an Advisor for the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) from May 2019 to December 2021, and as a Communications Director & Advisor for GSK from November 2018 to March 2020.

Additionally, Ben has experience as an Angel Investor, having made investments in companies such as Press London, GripIt, MiiCare, Zing Zing, Good Box Co, and Oval Money.

Earlier in their career, Ben was the Director of Zest The Agency during an acquisition period in 2017, where they oversaw the merger with Towers Design and focused on growing their youth engagement offering. Prior to that, they founded Towers Design at the age of 13 and grew the business from a sole trader operation in their bedroom to working with larger brands.

Ben also served as a Director for Young Start-up Talent, where they worked on growing the brand, improving offerings for young people and sponsors, and providing insight into young people in business. Additionally, they were a FSB Connect Ambassador & National Counsellor for the Federation of Small Businesses, where they helped build strategy and launch an initiative to engage young people.

Ben Towers attended Rainham Mark Grammar School from 2010 to 2015, where they pursued a GCSE degree in Business, Music, and Computing. Ben then enrolled at Towers Design as an apprentice from 2015 to 2017, specializing in Social Media. In 2022, they attended Y Combinator, completing the Winter 2022 program. The specific field of study during this time is unknown.
