Sam Weston

Sam Weston has a diverse range of work experience in the field of IT and DevOps. Starting in 2006 with a work placement at Lanz Ltd, Sam gained hands-on experience building workstations and servers. In 2010, Sam interned at Excelian, where they supported IT systems and participated in an office relocation project. Sam then joined IT Security Experts Ltd in 2011 as a Technical Deployment Engineer, providing consultation, deployment, and technical support for a Mobile Device Management solution. During this time, Sam also maintained the company's internal IT infrastructure. In 2014, Sam joined Snowflake Software as a Systems Administrator and DevOps Engineer, taking on various tasks from desktop support to managing AWS infrastructure. They also played a key role in the development of a cloud-based data platform using DevOps principles. In 2018, Sam transitioned to Pulselive as a DevOps Engineer, leading a migration project to standardize the platform on Kubernetes. This change improved reliability and software delivery performance. Currently, Sam is working at tails.com as the Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, overseeing Kubernetes clusters, AWS accounts, and associated infrastructure for resilient, efficient, and secure operations.

Sam Weston received their A-Level education from Coopers' Company and Coborn School from 2001 to 2008. During this time, they studied Computing, Mathematics, Physics, and Politics. Following that, they pursued a BSc degree in Computer Science from the University of Southampton from 2008 to 2011.
