Tapio Tuomola has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Tapio started their career as a researcher at Tampere University of Technology, where they conducted research in mathematical optimization algorithms and also taught mathematics. In 2005, they joined Nokia, initially working as an SW Design Engineer, responsible for various applications and software integration. Tapio later transitioned to the role of Senior SW Build Engineer, focusing on SW configuration management and compliance. Tapio then moved up to become an R&D Manager, leading a team in the customization capability division. In 2014, Tapio joined Microsoft, where they held senior R&D management positions. Tapio led a team responsible for developing tools, implementing, integrating, testing, and releasing SW variant configurations for Windows devices. Tapio also managed SW customization operations and was involved in solving SW variant issues together with mobile operator customers. Currently, Tapio works at Taipuva Consulting Oy as a CSO & R&D Management Consultant, utilizing their expertise in consulting on R&D management and application lifecycle management.
Tapio Tuomola obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Tampere University of Technology from 1998 to 2005. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Kaarila High School. In terms of additional certifications, Tapio Tuomola has obtained various certificates, including the Siemens Digital Industries Software Customer Success Associate Certificate in March 2022, the Siemens Digital Industries Software Sales Associate Certificate in January 2022, the Siemens Certified Sales Professional certificate and Siemens Certified Sales Rep certificate in March 2021, the Siemens Digital Industries Software Sales Pro Certificate in 2021, the PRINCE2 Foundation certificate in Project Management from APMG International in November 2016, the Certified ScrumMaster certificate from Scrum Alliance in May 2016, and the Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt certificate from Microsoft Quality and Business Excellence in May 2016.
