Emily McCarthy has a diverse work experience across multiple companies. Emily began their career in 2011 as a Sales and Service Coordinator at New World Stages, where they were responsible for planning and managing birthday parties. In 2012, they worked as an Executive Assistant at Stage Entertainment, supporting the Vice President of Marketing and Sales as well as the Director of Finance and Business Affairs. In 2013, Emily joined Take-Two Interactive as an HR Assistant, assisting various departments within HR. Over the years, they progressed to roles such as Learning & Development Specialist, Manager of Development Operations, and Senior Manager of People & Development Operations, where they implemented performance management platforms, designed training programs, and worked on the COVID-19 response team.

Emily McCarthy completed their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Acting from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where they studied from 2005 to 2010. In addition to their undergraduate education, Emily has obtained several certifications in various fields. In 2018, they completed the "Instructional Design: Needs Analysis" certification from Lynda.com. Emily also obtained certifications in "Strategic Thinking" and "Instructional Design: Models of ID" from Lynda.com in April and March 2018 respectively. Furthermore, Emily obtained the "The Neuroscience of Learning" certification from Lynda.com in February 2018. Prior to this, they obtained the "Situational Leadership II - Facilitator" certification from The Ken Blanchard Companies in January 2018. In 2015, Emily obtained the certifications of "Presentation Advantage - Facilitator" and "The 5 Choices to Extraordinary Productivity - Facilitator" from FranklinCovey in April.
