David Jansen van Vuuren

David Jansen van Vuuren is a seasoned professional in the e-commerce and artificial intelligence/machine learning industries, currently serving as the Group Product Lead for Search & Recommendations at takealot.com since July 2020. In this role, David defines the product strategy across the Takealot group, overseeing the execution of machine learning projects and defining success metrics to drive business results. Prior to this, David held the position of Product Lead for the AdTech Portfolio at Vicinity Media, where responsibilities included audience development and out-of-home advertising solutions. David's earlier experience includes freelance business consulting and a managerial role in financial services, complemented by an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Management Sciences from Stellenbosch University.
