Michelle McSweeney

Michelle McSweeney (McDonnell) is an accomplished procurement and category management professional with extensive experience in human resources and contingent labor procurement. Since August 2016, Michelle has served as the Global Category Management & Procurement Lead for Human Resources & Contingent Labor at Takeda, previously holding the position of Director, Head of Professional Services. Prior to Takeda, Michelle worked at Shire as Associate Director, Professional Services Lead, and at Cabot Corporation as Global Category Manager for Professional Services, focusing on cost reduction strategies with a spend of ~$200M per annum. Earlier roles include Sr. Procurement Manager at EMC, where Michelle negotiated savings exceeding $125 million over five years, and Assistant Vice President at State Street Bank, managing global sourcing strategies and realizing significant savings. Michelle holds an MBA in management from Suffolk University - Sawyer Business School and a BA in psychology from Stonehill College.
