David Chang

David Chang is the current Director of Engineering at Takeoff Technologies. Prior to this, they were the Director of Engineering at athenahealth from July 2007 to March 2019. In this role, they led 9 teams across the Hospital product ($15M budget across US and India) scaling features and functionality to support sub-25 ADC Hospital clients. David also aligned work across Product Management, User Experience, and Engineering functions to achieve $33M year-over-year recurring revenue. In addition, they modernized the use of tools and frameworks for SDLC to increase the speed and reliability of Development, including the introduction of test-driven development, testing pyramid, documentation, CI/CD, and mob programming.

David Chang graduated from Tufts University with a degree in Computer Science. David then attended Phillips Exeter Academy for their secondary education.

They are on a team with Francis Maruca - Director of Engineering, Release Management, Maksym Klymyshyn - Director of Engineering, and Yevgeny Balter - Vice President of Engineering & President of Takeoff Ukraine, LLC. David Chang reports to Zach Lavalley, President & Chief Technology Officer.
