Uma Sunkavalli

Uma Sunkavalli currently serves as the FP&A Director at Talen Energy, a position held since December 2022. Previously, Uma held the role of Financial Planning and Analysis Manager at Vinmar International from January 2019 to December 2022, and prior to that, worked as a Senior Financial Analyst in FP&A at Direct Energy between February 2017 and January 2019. Uma began a career in financial services as a Senior Associate at Grant Thornton LLP from September 2014 to February 2017 and briefly worked as an Associate Intern at Next Gen Capital Markets, Inc. in summer 2014. Earlier experience includes roles as an SAP BW/BI Consultant at LyondellBasell and as an SAP BW/BI Analyst at National Oilwell Varco, with initial experience as an SAP BI/BW Consultant for the US Army. Educational credentials include an MBA in Energy and Finance from the University of Houston and a Master’s in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Dallas, complemented by a Bachelor’s in Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.
