Jacqueline Balfour has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Jacqueline began their career at Hewlett-Packard in 1991, where they held various positions such as Project Manager, R&D Project Manager, Technical Marketing Manager, and Product Line Marketing Manager. Jacqueline was responsible for leading research projects, representing HP in standardization organizations, and managing marketing and product development for networking and network management products.

In 1999, they became the R&D Department Manager for networking IO products for HP UX Servers. Jacqueline'sresponsibilities included managing engineering teams, overseeing the development life-cycle, program and process improvements, budget management, and people development. Jacqueline also led teams in both the US and India.

From 2005 to 2013, Jacqueline held multiple leadership roles at Hewlett-Packard, including R&D Department Manager for the ProCurve Core Switch business, Director Switch SW, and Director ProCurve ONE Program. In these positions, they oversaw the development of software and switches, established new organizational structures, managed headcount planning and budgeting, and led cross-functional teams to drive key business changes.

In 2009, Jacqueline served as the R&D Director for the 3COM Acquisition and Integration at Hewlett-Packard. Jacqueline led the integration of 3Com's R&D activities into HP's infrastructure and policies, with a focus on China-based development. Jacqueline successfully completed critical tasks on schedule and addressed import/export regulations and technology transfer issues.

In 2015, Jacqueline joined the University of Strathclyde as the Business Development Manager for the Scottish Institute for Remanufacture. In this role, they led the creation of the institute and was responsible for raising awareness and engagement in re-use, refurbishment, and remanufacture within the Scottish manufacturing sector. This involved establishing a network and community of industry, academic, and public sector organizations, managing funded projects, and driving external communication and awareness building efforts.

Currently, Jacqueline serves as the Chief Technologist at Tallac Networks, a position they have held since 2021.

Jacqueline Balfour's education history begins in 1978 when they enrolled in the University of Strathclyde. Jacqueline pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and completed their studies in 1982. Following this, they continued their academic journey at Lancaster University from 1982 to 1985.
