Principal Specialist Clinical Psychologist In Critical Care at Tallaght University Hospital

Dr. Melanie Ryberg has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of clinical psychology and teaching. Their most recent role is as the Principal Specialist Clinical Psychologist in Critical Care at Tallaght University Hospital since October 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Clinical Psychologist in Critical Care and Medical Rehabilitation at the same hospital from March 2021 to October 2022.

In terms of their academic career, Dr. Ryberg is currently a Clinical Lecturer in the School of Medicine at Trinity College Dublin since March 2022. Dr. Melanie has also worked as an Occasional Lecturer in the School of Psychology at Trinity College Dublin from September 2020.

Before their position at Trinity College Dublin, Dr. Ryberg had roles at University College Dublin, where they served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the School of Psychology from April 2019, and as an Occasional Lecturer in the same school from October 2014 to March 2019.

Dr. Ryberg's previous experience includes working as a Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist at Bloomfield Health Services from October 2018 to March 2021, and as a Clinical Psychologist in Adult Mental Health for the Health Service Executive in Wicklow from January 2013 to October 2018.

Dr. Melanie has also held positions as a Locum Clinical Psychologist in Neuropsychology at Beaumont Hospital in October and November 2012, and as a Psychologist in Clinical Training for the Health Service Executive from September 2009 to September 2012.

Dr. Ryberg began their career as an Assistant Psychologist at the National Rehabilitation Hospital from September 2007 to September 2009, and prior to that, they worked as a Research Assistant at University College Dublin from June 2005 to September 2006.

Dr. Melanie Ryberg's education history includes a BA (Honours) degree in Psychology from University College Dublin in 2005. Dr. Melanie went on to earn an MLitt (Research) degree in Neuropsychology from the same university in 2008. In 2009, they obtained a DPsychSc degree in Clinical Psychology from University College Dublin. Dr. Ryberg pursued further education at the University of Glasgow, where they received a PgDip in Clinical Neuropsychology from 2014 to 2017. Most recently, in 2021, they completed a ProfDip in Clinical Leadership at Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).

TUH is one of Ireland’s largest acute teaching hospitals, adult, psychiatric and age-related healthcare on one site. The Hospital has 495 adult beds with 3,000 people on staff.
