Jason Carty has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Jason started their career as an Intern at Beaumont Hospital in 1998. Jason then worked as a Demonstrator/Lecturer in Clinical Anatomy at RCSI while undertaking an M.Sc. From 2000 to 2002, they served as a Senior House Officer in the North East Basic Surgical Training Scheme. Jason later worked as a Registrar in Emergency Medicine at James Connolly Memorial Hospital in 2002. In 2003, they became an SHO in Paediatric Emergency Medicine at Our Lady's Hospital For Sick Children. Jason then worked as a Registrar in Emergency Medicine at St. Vincent's University Hospital in 2004.

In the same year, Jason joined the NHS North East London Rotation as a Specialist Registrar in Emergency Medicine. During their time there, they worked in various hospitals and gained extensive experience in emergency medicine and healthcare management. In 2009, they became a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at UCLH NHS Foundation Trust. Jason then moved to Kerry General Hospital in 2011, where they worked as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine. During their time there, they led various projects and played a key role in implementing changes to improve patient care.

Most recently, Jason has been working at Tallaght University Hospital since November 2020. Jason holds the position of Chief Clinical Information Officer and continues to serve as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine. Their expertise and experience contribute to the hospital's overall operations and clinical governance.

Jason Carty has a strong education history in the field of healthcare. Jason earned their Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and Licentiate of the Royal Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons in Ireland (MB, BCh BAO, LRCP&SI) from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland from 1992 to 1998. Jason then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Anatomy from the RCSI/NUI from 1999 to 2001. Lastly, they completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Health Informatics from University College London from 2006 to 2010.

TUH is one of Ireland’s largest acute teaching hospitals, adult, psychiatric and age-related healthcare on one site. The Hospital has 495 adult beds with 3,000 people on staff. The Hospital is a provider of local, regional and national specialties. It is also a national urology centre, the second largest provider of dialysis services in the country, a national centre for Urology and pelvic and acetabular fractures.
