Wayne Hillman has over 30 years of work experience in fire and rescue services. Wayne started their career in 1984 as a Fire Manager at Ethekweni Fire and Rescue, where they coordinated and controlled fire fighting tasks and duties. Wayne attended and directed emergency incidents and was responsible for commanding a shift/watch. In 2012, they joined King Fahd International Airport as an Assistant Chief Fire Officer, where they were responsible for the operational readiness of all Crash Fire Rescue and Safety Services during their shift. Wayne assumed immediate overall command during emergencies and incidents. Currently, Wayne is working at Tamimi Group as the Chief Fire Officer. Wayne is involved in the establishment and management of the Fire Brigade Services, including prevention, protection, preparedness, response, and recovery. Wayne manages all personnel in the Fire Brigade.
Wayne Hillman - GIFireE has a diverse education history spanning multiple fields. In 1996, they completed a Diploma in Fire Technology from the South African Emergency Services Institute. Wayne also attended the University of Durban Westville Business School (UKZN Business School) in 1999, where they completed a Management Development Programme with a focus on Management.
In 2012, Wayne became a Graduate Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers. Wayne further enhanced their knowledge in the field of safety by obtaining a Nebosh International General Certificate in Safety Management from the National Training Centre Abu Dhabi in 2013.
In terms of occupational education and training practices, Wayne received a National Certificate in Occupationally Directed Education Training and Development Practices from the South African Qualifications Authority between 2016 and 2018.
Considering their commitment to workplace safety and health, Wayne is currently pursuing a Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health from Asean Online Education AOE, with an expected completion date in 2023.
