David Hamlett

Assistant Director, Amateur Scouting at Tampa Bay Rays

David Hamlett possesses extensive experience in the field of amateur scouting, currently serving as the Assistant Director of Amateur Scouting for the Tampa Bay Rays since February 2017. Hamlett has held various roles within the organization, including Amateur Scouting Coordinator, Area Scout, and Developmental Amateur Scout. Prior to joining the Rays, Hamlett was a Video Scouting Intern with the San Diego Padres and served as the Assistant Athletic Director at Ronald E. McNair High School, overseeing game day ticketing and assisting in coach recruitment. Hamlett's early career includes a role as a Student/Coach’s Intern for the baseball team at Coppin State University, where contributions were made to budget management and practice analysis. Educationally, Hamlett holds a Master's Degree in Recreation and Sports Sciences from Ohio University and a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management from Coppin State University.
