Will Cousins has a diverse work experience in research and development, with a focus on baseball. Will began their career at North Carolina State University as a Graduate Student and Research Assistant from 2009 to 2013. Following this, they joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a Postdoctoral Associate, where they developed techniques for predicting rogue ocean waves and taught undergraduate courses in numerical methods and MATLAB programming from 2013 to 2015. Since 2015, they have been working at the Tampa Bay Rays, starting as an Analyst and progressing to become the Senior Data Scientist and then the Director of Baseball Research and Development.
Will Cousins received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mathematics from Pepperdine University in 2009. Will then pursued further education at North Carolina State University, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Applied Mathematics from 2009 to 2011. Subsequently, they continued their studies at North Carolina State University and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Applied Mathematics from 2011 to 2013.
