Tiina Silander

Tiina Silander currently serves as Dean at Tampere University, starting in January 2024. Prior to this role, Tiina Silander worked at the Ministry of Education and Culture from March 2017 to January 2024, holding the position of Director in the Division for Education, specifically within the Department for General Upper Secondary Education and Vocational Education and Training. Previous roles at the Ministry included Project Manager for the Upper Secondary School Reform and Comprehensive School Reform initiatives, as well as Director for the Division of General Upper Secondary Education and Teacher Education. Between 2008 and February 2017, Tiina Silander was the Head of the Teacher Education Department at the University of Jyväskylä, overseeing strategic and financial management, human resources, and curriculum development. Tiina Silander holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Education from the University of Turku and a Master of Science from the University of Jyväskylä.
