This position is located at Ellsworth AFB, SD, and is a Full Time position. This position will report to the Site Manager.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Subject Matter Expert/Range Training Officer/LVC Mission Support (SME RTO Support) position directly supports on-site planning, execution, and debrief portions of Large Force Exercises and daily flying operations. The position is expected to contribute at Subject Matter Expert level to enhance and advance the combat training during local training missions and preparation for training deployments. Selected candidates will coordinate efforts with aircrews and Air Combat Training Systems technical experts to ensure mission planning is compatible with mission requirements and desired learning objectives.  Must be familiar with air-to-air and surface-to-air threat parameters and be able to provide guidance/feedback to aircrew and threat operators.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate and maintain Air Combat Training System (ACTS) network and associated equipment
  • Build and drive constructive scenarios/injects to enhance live training and help meet desired learning objectives
  • Respond to notification of malfunctioning systems, including applicable WarRoom 1.0 functions; troubleshoot and repair to restore the Ground Subsystems to full functionality
  • Gather information from users/computer operators to prepare and submit IT trouble tickets for systemic problems and malfunctions as needed
  • Prepare Data for debriefings and assist with debriefings if requested
  • Support Link 16 training operations as required
  • Ensure compliance with BSEt Quality Control and Safety Programs
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Undergraduate Degree required; Master’s Degree highly desired

  • Five (5) years of verifiable leadership experience

  • B-1 and B-52 Experience highly desired

  • Relevant tactical experience including radio communications highly desired

  • Rated mission expertise as Aircraft Commander or Weapons System Officer desired

  • Air Battle Manager or Weapons Director experience desired

Additional Requirements

  • US Citizen // Secret Clearance or ability to obtain is required

  • Applicants must have a valid state driver’s license

  • Be fluent in technical aircraft and electronic terminology

  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
