Camelia Q.

Camelia Q. has a diverse work experience spanning over 17 years. Camelia currently holds the position of Senior Legal Counsel at Tarabut Gateway since January 2023. Before this, they worked as a Legal Counsel at MUFG from August 2022 to December 2022. From September 2021 to June 2022, Camelia was employed at Rain as a Senior Privacy & Data Protection Counsel. Prior to that, they held the role of Assistant Vice President, Legal Counsel (fixed-term contract) at MUFG from January 2020 to May 2021.

Camelia also has experience at Al Tamimi & Company, where they worked as a Senior Data Protection Adviser from July 2018 to January 2019. Before joining Al Tamimi & Company, they had a long tenure at the DIFC Authority, where they held various roles from 2007 to 2018. These roles included Secretary and coordinator to the Legislative Committee (LegCo), Vice President Legal, Director - Data Protection, and Regulatory Compliance & Risk.

Additionally, Camelia worked as a Legal Consultant at Galadari Advocates & Legal Consultants from September 2006 to June 2007. Camelia started their career in 2005 as an Asset Management professional at Kent County Council.

Camelia Q. obtained a DPO - CIPP/E and CIPM degree in European Data Protection from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) in 2021. Prior to that, Camelia attended City, University of London, where they pursued a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in Law. Additionally, they also completed an LL.M (Master of Laws) in International Commercial Law from the University of Kent.
