Gerben van 't Klooster

Gerben van 't Klooster has a strong background in the pharmaceutical industry, with extensive experience in various leadership roles.

Starting in 1994, they worked at Janssen Pharmaceutica as an Associate Director in Clinical Pharmacokinetics before moving on to become a Global Project Leader.

In 1999, they joined Tibotec, Johnson & Johnson, where they served as a Compound Development Team Leader. Gerben'sresponsibilities included overseeing the worldwide development of early drug candidates in the field of HIV/AIDS.

In 2009, Gerben became the Chief Operating Officer at Kiadis Pharma, a position they held for several months before transitioning to Galapagos. At Galapagos, they held multiple senior leadership roles, including Vice President and Senior Vice President. Gerben'swork at Galapagos involved managing multidisciplinary project teams and overseeing the development of a portfolio of candidate drugs for autoimmune diseases. Gerben also played a role in managing alliances with pharmaceutical partners.

In 2023, Gerben joined TargED Biopharmaceuticals as the Chief Development Officer, where they are currently in charge of leading the company's development efforts.

Gerben van 't Klooster pursued their education at Utrecht University, where they completed their Master of Science degree in Pharmacy, Biochemical Toxicology between the years 1980 and 1988. Following this, they continued their educational journey at the same institution and successfully earned a PhD in Pharmacology/Toxicology from Utrecht University, which spanned from 1988 to 2002.
