Eric Achman

Mr. Achtmann is currently the Founder and Managing Director of Global Capital X. Eric is a business leader, serial entrepreneur, investor, and award-winning innovator in both large and small organizations who have systematically created billions in value. Following his time at the US Congressional Lean Aerospace Initiative and McDonnell-Douglas Phantom Works, Eric was a Defense, Aerospace & Automotive expert at McKinsey and pioneered the Firm’s highly successful product development practice (DTC/DTV), raised and invested 2 pan-European combined tech and life science venture funds, and co-founded V-Nova which provides technology underlying the new global video compression standard. He proposed, architected and delivered to market the global fresh drinks vending system underpinning Coca-Cola’s $5.3b acquisition of Costa Coffee, having generated over 125 patents/claims in only 6 months. Further, he is a Founding Member of Meggitt PLC’s Technology Advisory Board (LSE: MGGT), Senior Advisor to McKinsey, Founding Director of Celdara Medical, Executive Director of Javelin Oncology, Expert Advisor to the European Commission, US Air Force AFWERX Mentor, and was recently credited with successfully mediating a US-Russian patent dispute involving strategic CRISPR gene-editing technology. Eric holds an MBA in Finance from the MIT Sloan School of Management and further degrees from MIT (MS, Aero- & Astronautics); Von Karman Institute (MS, Fluid Dynamics); TU Munich (Aero- & Astronautics); and Univ. of New Hampshire (BS, Mech. Eng.). He is passionate about flying, skiing, cooking -- and turning innovation into big business.
