Jose Septien

Jose Septien has over 20 years of experience in R&D and management roles in the packaging industry. Jose is currently employed as the R&D Director at Tarkett since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at ZIP-PAK an ITW Company for 14 years, first as the European R&D Manager from 2009 to 2018, leading a team of specialists in developing new products and expanding manufacturing locations. Jose then became the Global R&D Manager from 2018 to 2023, overseeing all R&D activities and the testing of new products across the US and UK. Before joining ZIP-PAK, Jose worked at Supreme Plastics Ltd. as the Technical and Commercial Support Manager from 2001 to 2009, where they supervised various aspects of production and strategic planning, along with supporting the commercialization of zipper products in southern Europe.

Jose Septien completed their MSc in Packaging Technology Management from Brunel University London in 2016. Before that, they obtained a PhD in Physical Chemistry from The Manchester Metropolitan University in 2000. Their education history started with a BSc in Polymer Chemistry from Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, which they completed in 1994.
