Sherri Benn

Sherri Benn is currently the VP of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Tarleton State University. Prior to this, they served as the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Inclusive Excellence at Texas State University from 2003-2021. In this role, Benn was responsible for administrative leadership in Institutional Inclusive Excellence, which involved serving as a member of the University Administration leadership team, providing supervisory oversight, preparing annual and administrative reports, upline report for of 8 federal TRIO programs, IIE Student Initiatives, Co-Chair of Council on Inclusive Excellence, Elections Task Force Chair, serving on university committees, oversight of various divisional committee and teams.

Benn has also worked as an Ombudsperson at Texas State University from 1995-2002. In this role, they worked with students, faculty and staff to resolve various student complaints involving policies, funding, discrimination, academic matters, etc. Benn was successful in mediating disagreements.
