Jai Purdon

Jai Purdon has extensive experience in electrical engineering and network management, currently serving as the Distribution Systems Coordinator at TasNetworks since May 2017. Responsibilities include prioritizing safety, ensuring compliance with design parameters for the electrical network, managing outages, preparing switching instructions, and real-time network monitoring. Prior to this, Jai worked at Powerlink Queensland as a Field Test Engineering Officer, where testing of high voltage equipment and calibration of protection relays were key duties. Earlier roles include Electrical Fitter/Mechanic at Poles and Underground NSW, and Apprentice Electrical Fitter/Mechanic at Michael Ormerod Electrical NSW. Jai holds an Advanced Diploma of Electrical Engineering and a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Systems Electrician from TAFE NSW, as well as additional training in power systems protection from Queensland University of Technology.
