Al Berg

Al Berg has extensive work experience in the field of information security and cybersecurity. Currently, they serve as the Chief Information Security Officer at Tassat, where they lead cybersecurity efforts for the digital payments platform. Prior to Tassat, they worked as the Chief Information Security Officer at Endava, overseeing cybersecurity programs for the global digital transformation services provider. Al ensured compliance and resilience with security standards and managed awareness and investigation programs. Before that, Al held the position of Chief Security Officer at Liquidnet, responsible for information security, physical security, and enterprise risk management. At Liquidnet, they built the Security & Risk Management function from scratch and mentored a team of professionals in various security domains. Al also worked as the Tech Director - Information Security at Securities Industry Automation Corporation and as the Information Security Practice Director at Mentor Technologies. In these roles, they developed security policies, conducted assessments, and provided consulting services to clients. Additionally, Al served as the Director of Strategic Technologies at NETLAN, where they were involved in network systems, consulting, training, and troubleshooting. Overall, Al Berg has a wealth of experience and expertise in information security, cybersecurity, and risk management across diverse industries.

Al Berg's education history includes attending Brooklyn College from 1981 to 1984, where they studied Computer Science. In 2017, they enrolled in the Advanced Management Program at New York University, specializing in Business Administration and Management.

In addition to their formal education, Al Berg has also obtained several certifications. In 2001, they became a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) through (ISC)². Al further enhanced their knowledge and skills by obtaining the Certified Information Systems Auditor® (CISA) certification from ISACA in 2009. In 2010, they added the Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control™ (CRISC) certification to their credentials, also from ISACA. Additionally, in 2004, they obtained the Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM) certification from ISACA. Al Berg continued to update their knowledge and skills throughout their career, earning the Series 99 Operations Professional certification from FINRA in 2013. Finally, in 2021, they completed the Impact of Quantum Technologies on Cybersecurity certification from Black Hat.

Furthermore, Al Berg also holds the NJ Emergency Medical Technician certification, obtained from the State of NJ in June 2020.
