Hariharan Subramanyan has a diverse work experience in the field of education and development. Hariharan started their career as an Assistant Professor at Thadomal Shahani Engineering College in 1999 and later worked as a Visiting Faculty at Sardar Patel College of Engineering Andheri (West) Mumbai from 2008 to 2013. During this time, they guided 14 PG students in the Post Graduate Programme in Construction Management. In 2013, they joined Larsen & Toubro as a Faculty for the L&T IPM and worked there until 2018. Hariharan then moved to Tata Projects in 2019 as the Head of TPL Academy, Corporate Learning & Development. Hariharan is also an approved PG Teacher at the University of Mumbai from 2009 to 2012.

Hariharan Subramanyan obtained a Master's degree in Construction Management from the University of Mumbai from 2005 to 2008. During their high school years, they studied Science at Don Bosco Higher secondary school from 1991 to 1993. Although the exact dates are not provided, Hariharan completed a B.E in Civil Engineering from the University of Madras and a Ph.D in Civil Engineering from the University of Mumbai.

In terms of certifications, they obtained the following:

- GRI Certified Sustainability Professional from the Global Reporting Initiative in February 2024.

- Authorized Training Partner Instructor - DASSM from the Project Management Institute.

- Two certifications as an Authorized Training Partner Instructor - PMP from the Project Management Institute.

- Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM) from the Project Management Institute in November 2020.

- Organizational Transformation I (Micro credential) from the Project Management Institute in 2020.

- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in October 2020.
