Luis F. Torrens Sotomayor is a professional in the field of chemical engineering with extensive experience in education, mentorship, and research. Currently serving as the Webmaster and Undergraduate Education, Laboratory and Outreach Mentor at the Center for Pharmaceutical Engineering Development and Learning since June 2014, Luis has effectively managed the center's online presence and engaged K-12 students in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. Additionally, leadership roles in various organizations, including Cub Scout Den Leader for the Boy Scouts of America and member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, demonstrate a commitment to community involvement and education. Luis has co-founded the Pharmaceutical Engineering Student Society at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, focusing on bridging academia and industry, and has contributed as a member of the Chemical Engineering Graduate Students Association and Tau Beta Pi Association. Luis is currently pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering after completing both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in the same field.
