Sophie Templeton

Sophie Templeton is an experienced project manager and engineer with a strong background in sustainability and mechanical engineering. Currently serving as a Project Manager at Tauranga City Council since July 2021, Sophie previously held the position of Energy Projects Engineer at Islington Council, where key achievements included securing government funding for low carbon projects and managing feasibility studies in local schools. Earlier roles as a Mechanical Engineer at FHP Engineering Services Solutions and Mesh Consulting Limited focused on HVAC design, while experience at Beca involved large-scale projects in building services. Sophie's journey commenced with an internship at Beca's Jakarta Office and a product design engineering role at Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, where mechanical design contributions were made. Sophie holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Canterbury.
