Niels Jeurink

Niels Jeurink is an experienced professional in ecology and environmental policy with a comprehensive background in various roles. Currently serving as a Statenlid for GroenLinks Overijssel since March 2023, Niels focuses on committees related to agriculture, nature, and the environment. Niels has been a Senior Specialist in Ecology at Tauw bv since November 1994, concentrating on complex impact assessments in compliance with nature conservation laws. Additionally, Niels contributes as an editorial board member for NBR, a journal dedicated to nature conservation law, and coordinates a plant working group for Natuurvereniging IJsseldelta, organizing educational excursions. Previous roles include municipal councilor for GroenLinks Kampen and chairperson of FLORON, overseeing its significant relocation and organizational changes. Niels holds a degree in Biology from Wageningen University & Research and has a strong foundation in environmental studies from early involvement with the Nederlandse Jeugdbond voor Natuurstudie.
