Renu Zaretsky

Renu Zaretsky has extensive experience in communications and public affairs, currently serving as a Writer at the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center since December 2013, where research, writing, and editing are integral to daily projects such as the Daily Deduction and the Tax Hound. Prior roles include Director of External Relations and Communications Director at the Jewish Healthcare Foundation, where Renu Zaretsky led teams, secured significant funding, and managed media relations. Earlier experience includes positions as Senior Public Affairs Associate and Public Affairs Associate at The Urban Institute, contributing to the launch of the Tax Policy Center and developing communication strategies for research publications. Renu Zaretsky's career began as a Policy Associate at the Center for the Child Care Workforce and the National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies, focusing on media relations, advocacy, and research writing. Renu Zaretsky holds a Master of Arts in Public Administration and Policy Analysis from the La Follette School of Public Affairs at UW-Madison and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
