Otar Nadaraia

Chief Economist at TBC Bank

Otar Nadaraia has a diverse and extensive work experience in economics and consulting. Otar currently works as a Strategic Advisor and Consultant at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) since 2023. Prior to this, they held various consultant roles at ADB from 2016 to 2021.

In 2017, Nadaraia worked as the Chief Economist at TBC Bank. Otar also served as a Consultant at the World Bank Group in 2018 and at ADB in 2018 (for a brief period) and 2017.

In addition, they worked as a Consultant at EU-FINSTAR from 2016 to 2018 and at Bank of Georgia in 2017. Otar was also a Member of the Basel Consultative Group from 2014 to 2016.

Before that, they had a long tenure at the National Bank of Georgia starting in 2003. During their time there, they held various roles such as Board Member, Deputy Governor, and Chief Economist, Research Economist. Otar was also a Member of the Monetary Policy Committee and held leadership positions within the bank's divisions.

Otar Nadaraia has a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Tbilisi State University, which they obtained from 1994 to 1998. Otar then pursued a Master's degree in Economics from the same university, completing it from 1998 to 2000. Otar later achieved a Candidate of Economic Sciences degree (similar to a PhD) specializing in Development Economics and International Development, Transition Economics from V. Melkadze Scientific-Research Institute for Socio-Economic and Regional Problems, where they studied from 2000 to 2003. Finally, they attended Williams College and earned a Master's degree in Economics from 2007 to 2008.
