Janet Golden

Janet Golden is a seasoned professional in behavioral health and social services, currently serving as a Behavioral Health Counselor at The Chautauqua Center since February 2022. Previously, Janet held roles such as Caregiver Navigator at the NC Division of Aging and Adult Services and Census Field Supervisor at the U.S. Census Bureau, where motivational interviewing techniques were employed. Janet's experience also includes working as a Tobacco Treatment Counselor at UNC Family Medicine and a Certified Nursing Assistant at Right at Home, LLC., focusing on dementia care and client compliance. Additionally, Janet served as a Housing Crisis Counselor at Dorcas Ministries, providing intervention for individuals in financial distress. Janet holds a Master of Social Work from North Carolina State University, a certificate in Healthcare Consumer Advocacy & Patient Navigation from Antioch University Midwest, a Master’s in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Bachelor's degree in Languages & Literature from Bard College.
