Matt Gillespie

Matt Gillespie is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in educational leadership development and government affairs. Currently serving as Senior Director of Government and Multilateral Affairs at Teach For All since July 2016, Matt leads transformative projects that empower 62 in-country network partners and over 25 early-stage entrepreneurs globally. Previously, as Director of Development and Government Engagement, Matt facilitated the growth of 20 organizations across various regions, achieving an annual network scale rate of 18% from 2016 to 2020. Prior roles include Head of Fundraising and Business Development at City Gateway, where Matt contributed to the scaling of a charity focused on disadvantaged youth, and various advisory positions within the UK government, including serving as Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Education. Matt holds a BA in English and Politics from Queen's University Belfast.
