Vice President, Head Of Early Talent at Teach For America

Andy Saunders, MPA, has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Starting in 2009, Saunders worked as a College Program Intern at Walt Disney World until 2012. In 2012, they served as a Police Officer for the City of Wilson. Saunders then transitioned to education, working as a Middle School Teacher at Uncommon Schools from 2014 to 2016. During this time, they also joined Teach For America as a Corps Member. From 2016 to 2020, Saunders progressed within Teach For America, holding positions such as Manager, Recruitment; Director, Recruitment; and Managing Director, Recruitment. In 2019, they participated in the Executive Director Fellowship program, focusing on financial sustainability, public engagement, and systems thinking. In 2020, Saunders co-founded New Blue, an accelerator for reform-minded police officers. Their latest role is as Vice President, Head of Early Talent Engagement at Teach For America, where they demonstrate their leadership skills acquired throughout their career.

Andy Saunders, MPA completed their Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree with a specialization in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management at Rutgers University from 2020 to 2022. Prior to pursuing their MPA, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections from East Carolina University, where they studied from 2008 to 2012.
