Laurie Backall

Laurie Backall, MBA, has extensive experience in fundraising and development within nonprofit organizations. Currently serving as Vice President of Field Fundraising at Teach For America since August 2024, Laurie previously held leadership roles at City Year, including Managing Director of Development and Managing Director of Development & Support Services. Additional experience includes directorial positions at United Way of Rhode Island and Hill House, as well as involvement in tutoring and program coordination at Tutoring Plus of Cambridge and Brandeis University, respectively. Laurie holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from Northeastern University and an MBA from Bryant University.
