Leaundra Clay has extensive work experience in the education field. Leaundra started their career as a Teacher with Teach For America in 2014, where they underwent intensive training and developed skills in instructional planning, classroom management, and diversity training. After that, they joined Duplin County Schools as a 6th & 7th Grade Social Studies Teacher and later became an Assistant Principal. In this role, they conducted teacher observations, facilitated professional development, and led the implementation of the Positive Behavior Intervention System. Leaundra then returned to Teach For America in 2019 as a Director, providing support to Corps Members and Alumni in Eastern North Carolina and promoting personal and professional growth through various initiatives. Leaundra currently holds the position of Managing Director, Network Strategy - Eastern North Carolina at Teach For America.

Leaundra Clay completed their education with a Master of Education - MEd degree in MSA from North Carolina State University in the year 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Hampton University, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. Leaundra'shigh school education was completed at Saint Mark's High School from 2006 to 2010. Additionally, Leaundra also earned a Bachelor's of Science degree from Hampton University, although the specific years are not provided.
